Model Railway Modules

I have created many modules for use on railway layouts and scenic displays. You can find information on each module below complete with instructions on how to connect and use them.

Arc Welding Simulator
This is a module used in models to simulate someone using an arc welder. Blue and white LED's are used to provide a realistic flashing effect associated with welding using an arc welder. The time the welding is taking place and the time between welds is random adding to the realism.

Oxy-Acetelyne Welding Simulator
This is a module similar to the arc welder but uses Red and Orange LED's to provide a realistic effect associated with welding using an oxy-acetelyne welder. The red LED glows as welding takes place and represents the metal getting hot. The orange LED flashes to represent of the flame and sparks caused by the welding process. Random timing is used to further enhance the effect.

Roadworks Lights
This module is used to simulate a running line of amber lights affixed to the cones ate the beginning of roadworks. The lights flash one after the other in the direction of the traffic. Most commonly they are used where cones direct traffic from one lane to another.
The module is small in size and is supplied without LED's. There are 5 yellow wires and one black wire used to connect to your own LED's. Layouts4U have some very nice scale cones for sale with led's. These can be used with this module.
There is an adjustable resistor on the circuit board to adjust the speed at which the LED's change.

Emergency Services Lights
The older emergency services lights were rotating blue lamps. This module flashes two sets of three LED's in order to simulate the rotating lights. Use small LED's (size depends on scale) and glue each group of three LED's together to form a single light. When wired to the module the LED's will flash in turn looking like each light is rotating.
A variable resistor is provided to control the speed the LED's flash.
